The Real Test
I am sensing that the real test to a marriage is moving! The whole process really tests a realtionship. I'm finding my husband and I don't "move" the same way...and me being somewhat of a control freak, like my way!So he thinks we box it all up, throw it in the new garage and sort it out there; Me, I think we go through all the junk we have while packing it and toss it out before we move...thus the less junk we have the less we need to move, why take all your junk with you to the new place, only to throw it out there???? This makes no sense. But I have to hand it to him, before I knew it half the house is in boxes sitting in the living room waiting to be loaded into the truck. Which is great!!! However I question the motivation....is it the fact he wants to help his lovely wife, OR is it guilt, knowing that this weekend, 3 days before we move, he's going to the Gator game in Alabama!!!Either way, He's got us packed! WHHOOO - HOOO!!!As for the work-out, the move and the packing is substituting for now!!Seeya after the move!!!
Oh Boy!
Well, after packing boxes upon boxes and aching all day yesterday I decided that a stretching routine maybe in order to start this whole procedure of getting back into shape! This week is starting out to be horrible!!! Very stressful with a bunch of crises at work regarding the permits and interpretation of agency rules! UGH! I think they make it up as they go along! Anyway, its crunch time so stress is up, work is frantic and every important document once held under "lock and key" has since disappeared amongst the two moves and several hurricanes! There isn't (right now anyway) enough time in the day to get my short-list done even coming in at 7 and leaving at 6:30!!! So trying to squeeze in a short work-out at lunch is out of the question!I love it though, the work that is, its very research based and at all times its as though you are prepping for trial, covering all your flanks and anticipating the other side's next move! Which is difficult when you're dealing with those that make up their own rules to the game! But its good! Now off to face another day....hopefully today will be good.....Hubby and I made it through a whole year of marriage!! WHOOOHOOO! And for all those wondering....NO, life didn't change after the wedding! We are still the same people we were before, living our own lives, just together! Its Great!
UGH!
UGH, well this work-out stuff isn't starting out well.....actually its not starting at all! Yesterday started out as a trip to get boxes for the move, then some lunch, then the Gator game, then dinner with the in-laws!!!
So, not an ouce of fat was lost yesterday! Today, again with the moving chores!
I'm planning on getting up early, like at the butt crack of dawn, to get to the gym before work! We'll see how that goes.
I'd get up early and run, but the roads around my place are a bit secluded so when I start out, all those horror movies come to mind and my miles turn into a block before I turn and high-tail it home!
The new place is more of a neighborhood, so I anticipate a return to my love of running. There's something to be said about getting out there early in the morning, dew all over, and the fresh smell of grass and sweet flowers. The birds are just starting to tweet and everyone is still wiping the sleepy dust out of their eyes.
Its a pleasant calm as the sun rises and it gets light, noises start to get louder and people start to emerge.
All you hear is you. Its invigorating!
Ta Da!
OK...so what is next?? I spent a great deal of time studying and now I'm done...so what's next?
I'm in the process of buying a home so I expect some decorating to come about, but what about the exercise??
After the grouling hours of studying, and eating while I was studying, the ole bod just aint what it used to be!
I used to be pretty intense at the gym, so I may check that out...but as others may attest, once you lose your favorite gym, the rest just aren't the same! Its tough to get into the groove!
I'm on the look out for some activities...my brother is a tri-athlete so I may hit the road and start running again, but its tough getting back into it!
Any hints or words of advice are welcome!
Til Later!!
